And so it begins....

Day one again.  I finally feel well enough to start up again, not 100% but I'm sick of doing nothing, its not my style.

Yesterday was a poor effort on the food front - at my parents who seem allergic to doing any useful shopping.  Breakfast was the least rank breakfast cereal I could find wholewheat shredded wheats with semi skimmed milk.  Lunch was better, a cooked chicken breast, a boiled egg and some organic red and green salad leaves.  Dinner was one beef burger topped with cheese.... and that was it, I was so tired from driving that I couldn't be the least bit bothered to make a real dinner so I ate the burger Mr D made (sans bun) and had loads of cups of tea to ease my throat.

Today is a new day, breakfast has been ace: oatbran, organic whole milk, tsp of 4 seed mix, 100g strawberries, a probiotic multivit (still don't think these work and I miss my actimel) and a cup of green tea with jasmine.

The best bit is that I have my camera back so pictures will resume tonight and they won't be pretty.  I'm so annoyed at having been ill and losing all my fitness and muscle tone, I guess I've done this before so I'll do it again, it just blows to be back to square one again.

See you tomorrow.

No Progress

I might stop blogging until I'm well enough to exercise again because this isn't exactly making for inspiring reading right now is it?  I'm sure you can guess that no Jillian was done yesterday, I did walk home again though which was nice as te sun was out and I didn't get hailed on this time.  I also managed to do some cleaning and sorting of the house as someone is coming to value it this weekend.

Breakfast yesterday was the same, milk, oatbran, black grapes and 4 seed mix.  lunch was 2 slices (1/4) of the quiche I posted yesterday with a great big pile of iceberg lettuce. Snacks were the same as yesteday. Dinner was chicken and veg stir fry - no noodles and I wimped out of using the coconut oil but I'm having the same for tea tonight so I'll be brave and try it then.

Sorry for the lame posting, I'll have the camera back (and hopefully fulling fucntioning immune system) tomorrow and I'm re-starting RI30 on Monday so you'll be inundated with pictures then.

Calories: 1164/1520 (I know, I know)
5 A Day? grapes (1) 2 clementines (1) iceberg (1) quiche (1) stir fry (1 - at least) = 5.

When will it end?

I'm still ill, how is that even possible??  I've got a hen party this weekend and I have to be well before then, and with the wedding next weekend I need to be well enough to do Jillian, I'm practically getting withdrawls.

Food yesterday was good:

Breakfast was 40g Oatbran, about 70ml organic semi skimmed milk, 10g (heaped teaspoon) of 4 seed mix and 80g of organic black grapes.  Morning snack was a clementine and 4 almonds.  Lunch was shredded organic iceberg lettuce, a 2 inch piece of cucumber, 50g of shredded roast pork leftover from the weekend and one organic carrot.  Afternoon snack was another clementine and 4 almonds and a protein shake when i got in from work.  Dinner was a bowl of homemade minestrone (tin of tomatoes, one courgette, 2 carrots, one onion, 2 celery stick and 300ml of chicken stock) with 10g grated parmesan on top and a slice of bodyism rice crust quiche:

That was 270g cooked brown rice mixed with one egg white and pushed into the flan case and baked for 10 minutes, the filling is one large leek, half a head of broccoli, one onion, 3 eggs, 50g cheese 175ml milk and 4 slices of ham (all ingredients were organic) you add that to the case after its ten minutes baking and then cook for 40 minutes more - its delicious. (Recipe from Clean and Lean diet book by James Duigan).

So whilst I'm happy that yesterday was a good clean food day my calories were low and I need to try and improve that today!

Calories: 1059/1520
5 A day? Black grapes (1), 2 clementines (1), Salad (1), carrot (1) Minestrone Soup (at least 1) and that makes 5!

PMA!!!

So I've not been feeling great this weekend - so no blogs sorry.  I went into London on Friday for a bit of retail therapy but felt so crap (and didn't find anything I wanted - see I told you I was ill!) that we came back here and nipped in TK Maxx where I ended up buying a nike running vest and shorts, and a le creuset dish.  Rock and Roll.  Lunch was yo sushi and I can't remember what we had for tea - left over minestrone soup I think.

Saturday we stayed in, me sleeping on and off on the sofa whilst Mr D watched varying rugby games.  For lunch I made bodyism rice crust quiche which was lush actually so I'll be making another one of those soon for a bit of something different for lunch - and by then hopefully i'll have my camera back to show you my culinary skills.  Dinner was a disaster.  We tried to make satay pork with a carrot and apple salad but the dressing (fish sauce and lime) was hanging and the peanut topping for the pork just burnt under the grill!  We ended up leaving tea in the end as I felt too sick and Mr D was full of crisps.

Sunday I felt a bit better so I did roasted pork belly for lunch with some crushed new potatoes dressed in oil and lemon thyme (yum) and some sauteed cabbage, it was a Jamie Oliver recipe and totally awesome.  For dinner we finished off the quiche whilst we watched Titanic.  We also noticed that our shower is leaking AGAIN all over the living room ceiling so yesterday I attempted to seal it, hopefully it will last better than the builders attempts.

So yesterday we went into town, again I didn't buy anything other than a water filter and glass bottle to keep my filtered water in (taking this clean and lean stuff seriously!) then after being so annoyed at our house we went off to see a few new builds in the area.  One is in a lush location but is a bit small, the other is massive and amazing but I'm not so sold on the area... both are really expensive.....

And now back to the purpose of the diary.  Food lately has been rubbish and exercise non existant.  I'm going to try and ease myself back into it today by walking home and  then when I get back I might try some circuits if I feel up to it.  More than anything I want this cold or whatever it is to do one so I can re-start RI30 again, feels like a long time since I've done it.

Will check back in tomorrow. Promise.

Feeling like hell.

So this morning I've woken up and its as if my whole throat has closed up, swallowing is so painful so I've not attempted to eat anything and have just had a cup of green tea to start me off.

Food yesterday was good:  breakfast was as I said yesterday, oatbran, organic semi skimmed milk, about 10g 4 seed mix and half a punnet of graze tutti frutti for a bit of 5 a day action.  For lunch I did manage to have my bodyism wrap (Thanks Mr D!) and it was delicious, it was an outer leaf of iceberg lettuce spread with 15g of organic hummus, then 2 slices of turkey breast went on that and the whole thing topped with a 2" piece of cucumber, one large tomato, and half a yellow pepper...mmmmmm  after that I had 2 organic carrots.

No morning snack, but in the afternoon I had 8 almonds and a 1/3 of a graze flapjack when I got home.  Dinner was turkey stir fry made from 100g turkey breast strips, 1/3 pack of veg medley (baby corn, mange tout and broccoli) homemade sauce (made from soy, organic honey and rice wine) and 100g of fresh rice noodles - yum.

The only downer on the food side was that I didn't get anywhere near calories yesterday: 956/1520 I just hope its alright and that everything I ate on the weekend will sort of balance it out?

Obviously I did no exercise yesterday with feeling so rough and the bruising on my legs, and I doubt I'll be ready to do anything until that gets better, but i'll try my best.  In other news my camera was in that bar in Nottingham and my sister collected it for me so I'll be back taking pictures just as soon as I get it back!

Here is one that I've borrowed from facebook so you can see how I've been doing for the last week or so without taking any:

I think its clear there is still a really long way to go!  My thighs are massive and being 5'3 doesn't exactly help to make them look any smaller does it?

Calories: 956/1520
5 A Day? not sure if the graze counts, 2 in the wrap at lunch, carrot, and 2 in the stir fry so yes 5 all together.

17 day countdown

So I've been slack on the blog again, a combination of work, tiredness and a small trip away this weekend have meant I haven't been keeping you all up to date and I certainly haven't been doing Ripped in 30 or living clean or lean.

On Saturday I went on a Hen Weekend to Marbella, it was brilliant but I can't say I made good food choices or that I felt bad about it at the time!  I did manage to get a run in on the Sunday morning, but I've ended up with bruised knees on both legs at the side and one massive swollen bruise on just my left leg, will give running a bit of a rest and carry on with Jillian.  I'm worried about it a bit really, I know the half marathon isn't until October but I was really getting back into running again and now i'll have to wait for all the bruising to go down and then if it comes back it'll be another wait.....

Sorry it's a downer post today, I'm pretty tired after getting back from Spain, and getting back into work and eating right again.  Today has started ok, mug of green tea, a probiotic multi vitamin, oatbran, organic semi skimmed milk, 4 seed mix and half a punnet of graze tutti frutti.  Hopefully Mr D is bringing supplies for me so that I can make the bodyism wraps for lunch and dinner will be turkey stir fry, no rubbish is being consumed for the next 17 days so that I'm in good form for the wedding near the end of April - My dress is being taken in and it has to fit!!!

I'll check back in tomorrow and let you know how today goes.

Day ???????

No amount of good intentions can steel you against the temptations that a holiday bring your way.  Saturday didn't start too well as I had to go to a bridesmaid dress fitting and I couldn't face breakfast as I was so worried the dress wouldn't fit. I'm happy to say that it did so when I got back home I had 2 slices of bacon which I'd earlier passed up and Sat down to watch the rugby.  Mid way through a game that I really didn't carea bout I decided to do Ripped in 30, now I didn't have the dvd but I was armed with a list of all the circuits and got Mr D to shout out when I had to change to the next move - it was quite fun like that actually.

Food wasn't the best whilst I was there, everything had mash or chips attached to it and refusing food in my family instantly leads them to jump to conclusions that you must have an eating disorder or similar.  sunday was mothers day so we went out for lunch, I had tomato bruschetta to start and then a chicken caeser salad for main but was pretty naffed off at the amount of dressing that they'd slathered it with.  Then the Mr and I hot-footed it off to Cornwall where everything went a bit wrong.

If you've never been to Cornwall or Devon then you are missing out, its so beautiful there and the coast it gorgeous.  On our first day the weather was good so we went to St Ives, visited the Tate, walked along the beach, through the town and down to the harbour for fish and chips on a bench overlooking a little bit of beach.  On the way back to the car we stopped off at a cute bakery and bought saffron buns, clotted cream and jam so that we could have a cream tea later on. No exercise done that day.

Tuesday was miserable so we went to Plymouth to look for a bikini and a dress for the Hen weekend, no luck on that front but I did get a couple of dresses for summer, had lunch in a nice pub, and a good mooch about.  Resisted a yummy looking cupcake shop (same can't be said for Mr D) and when we got back we headed over to the gym where I did level 3 Ripped In 30 and had a 2 mile run afterwards.

Wednesday the sun had come back out so we took a trip to Padstow, which is one of my favourite places, its just beautiful there.  We had a walk about, visited Rick Stein's patisserie, bought a silly amount of his jams and things as pressies, then popped into a bakery for you guessed it.... more scones and clotted cream!  llunch was at a restaurant above the bakery overlooking the harbour, I had a chicken salad and water.  No real exercise got done on Wednesday either, some lunges, squats, push ups, bicycles and planks but no Ri30.

Thursday it p****d it down but we went to Looe anyway because Mr D loves it.  I got cold and wet wandering around so we had fish and chips in a little pub (yes I know, neither clean nor lean) then bought some paintings and canvases for the house before heading to a bakery for yet more scones (fruit ones this time - very uncornish for a cream tea)  same routine as the night before was done but no RI30

Friday saw a mammouth road trip from St Mellion all the way to my parents house in Mansfield.  I think you'll let me off for not rushing to put my trainers on after a 5 hour drive and a seriously numb bum.

Saturday I got up early to got for a run, only a little one around the village they live in, about 2k in 11 minutes.  I'll not be breaking any records with a time like that but I had to be back to get ready to go out for a Birthday lunch and I also don't know the area at all so didn't want to go much further incase I got lost.

Yesterday we had to go really early from Nottingham to our house in Watford, empty our bags, and then re-pack to go to South London for Mr D's sisters Birthday, we got in really late last night and had to get up super early this morning to get to work and so I could go to Tesco beforehand to get something healthy for braekfast and lunch and get me back on track for a super clean week!

So please if anyone is reading this feel free to kick my bum if I go off track, I feel rubbish for having eaten so badly and I want my energy back!!!
